Personally, I do not agree with Kelly and Claire. While it is true that urban land resources are very limited, I still believe that maintaining green space in cities is essential for residents' health and well-being. While Kelly makes a point in stating the importance of health care, and while Claire is right when she states that building roof-top gardens can partially resolve the problem, I am afraid both of them have overlooked the problem of city pollution. More cars are running on our streets than ever before, and our factories are producing waste gas day and night, jeopardizing the health of all citizens. For instance, a deadly fog broke out in London in the 1950s, killing thousands of people in a matter of days. Therefore, it is essential to maintain a certain percentage of green space in our cities, for the simple reason that trees and bushes can help to absorb those dangerous gases and clean up our home. In conclusion, despite the limited land resources in urban areas, it is still essential to maintain the presence of green space in out cities.
